If we are Christians, belonging to Christ and He is in us, we are called for a thorough change in our lives. We need to have a new heart and a new nature. All the old in us has passed away – that means old thoughts, old principles, and old practices. This change doesn’t happen all at once, but continues throughout our lives as Christians. The change may seem so subtle at times that we can hardly perceive it, and other times the change is tremendous. We are to live victoriously at all times, not as if our burdens are too hard to carry. With Christ, we do not live inadequate lives.
You are no longer your own, and you no longer live by your own means. You, dear friend, were bought at a price -- That price was the shed blood of Jesus. You are not just living for the Lord, but it is actually the risen Christ living in you that gives you the strength and courage to rise victoriously. Living as a new creation is not something we can do on our own, nor is it something we can fabricate. This change is something that I often refer to as a “heart change.”
“God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.” I Corinthians 7:23 NLT
You can desire greatly for a friend, co-worker, or family member to have this change, but until the Lord comes in and completely transforms them, our desire is for naught. My prayer for those people is first for salvation, but then for a humility that will allow for the Lord to work in them.
Sweet friend, the divine work the Holy Spirit is doing in you is real and is making you new. Embrace the new changes and thank Him often for what He has done. Please make comments below, I’d love to hear about the new creation you’ve become. Sometimes, we find it hard to boast about ourselves because we want to have a humble spirit. I agree with that whole heartedly, but give the Lord praise for what He has done in you!!
Cheering you on,
