First dress of the year | Simplicity 1653

Sew.... I'm definitely not a fan of this one. The dress is a mock wrap that ties to the left. It felt somewhat awkward.... I think they should have drafted it the opposite way. Full review is below the images.

Pattern Description:
Misses/Women's mock wrap dress with front soft pleats and side wrap. Comes with alternate pieces for C, D, DD Cup sizes.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, it did.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
There were easy to follow and the dress was easy to make. In fact, it came together very fast.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I purchased it because I love a nice wrap dress. My favorite detail, however, is that it has alternate pieces for C, D, and DD cup. I love the "Amazing Fit" series of patterns from Simplicity. They make it easy to finish garments quickly because I don't have to do FBAs. The sleeves are pretty nice too.

Fabric Used: ITY Knit from Hancock Fabrics

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
No design changes. However, as I mentioned in the beginning, I think it should have wrapped the other way. It just feels awkward. Having said that, I might make it once more in another weird print...just to see the outcome.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Maybe....

Conclusion:
If you're looking for a fast easy wrap dress, you may love it!
